On 25th June we were called at 6pm to assist two people onboard a broken down speedboat off King’s Hard near Cobmarsh Island. This was another quick shout. After arriving on scene, we fixed the problem and returned to the station all within an hour.
A crewmember said, “It was a waterjet boat, and we cleared weed from the jets.”
“They were almost aground, in about 2ft of water. We towed them into deeper water, and put one of our crew aboard to test their boat to make sure the jets were clear and engines weren’t overheating.”
“They were on route to Essex Marina in the Crouch. We sent them on their way, asking them to check in on the radio with Dover Coastguard every 15 minutes. They were past the Buxey the last we heard so all was good.”
