West Mersea Lifeboat news.

A Busy Month.
Monday 1st May 2017
The following day we launched at 1419hrs to help a windsurfer reported in difficulty. We found him in the middle of the River Blackwater unable to get back on his board. We took him back to his launch point off Seaview Avenue, West Mersea, where he was handed over to the mobile coastguard team. Once he was safely ashore we returned to the station.
Saturday 13th May 2017
We launched at 1312 to a broken down motorboat in Strood Channel.
Wednesday 17th May 2017
We launched at 1815 to a 27ft motor launch in need of assistance in the Ray Sand Channel off Dengie Flats.
As well as our deployments on service we continue to launch on training exercises thrice monthly.
Our marvellous shoreteam have also been pulling out all the stops:-
Anthea, our shop manager, opens the station to visitors every weekend and bank holiday from 11.30am to 4pm.
The Guild held a fundraising coffee morning at the Yacht Club and would like to thank everyone who came and bought coffee, cake and lifeboat goodies.
We received some wonderfully kind donations, not only from Stone Sailing Club but also from some of our rescuees. Thank you so much to all of you who help us.
We depend on donations to keep saving lives at sea.
We have a new jam jar scheme in play. Please help support our lifeboat by taking one of our jars and filling it with your 5p coins. You can pick up a jar from the Lifeboat Station, from the West Mersea Library or from Game Estate Agents. When your jar is full please empty it at Game Estate Agents in Yorick Road, West Mersea.
Thanks to your support we will always be able to be there to answer a call for help.
